By ANNIE BUI An Ithaca man has been arrested as the suspect of a shooting that took place in downtown Ithaca Monday evening. Clifton McBean, 22, turned himself in to the Ithaca Police Department Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:15 p.m, according to police. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and reckless endangerment in the first degree. The shooting occurred near the intersection of South Plain Street and Cleveland Avenue at approximately 7:39 p.m. Monday, where McBean reportedly fired gunshots and injured a man who sustained two gunshots. The victim was transported by civilian vehicle to a nearby hospital. According to police, the shooter and the victim knew each other. McBean is currently in IPD custody and awaiting arraignment in Ithaca City Court.
