Candidates for Student Assembly Elections Finalized

Campaigning began for the Student Assembly’s Spring 2026 election cycle on Tuesday. Campaigning allows candidates to promote their candidacy through a variety of means, including the distribution of printed campaign materials, visual campaigns such as chalk or posters, speeches and statements and promotion through digital means, according to Section 1(c) of the Student Assembly Election Rules.

Voting will open for the Student Assembly election on April 20 and close April 27. All undergraduate students can cast their vote through an online link which will be emailed to the student body.

There are 32 open spots in this year’s election. The Sun obtained a finalized list of candidates for each position, and compiled campaign statements and endorsements made publicly available by the time of publication. 

The veterans representative position does not have any candidates. The election for College of Arts and Sciences representative, which has three open positions, only has two candidates running.

President - 1 Position


Eeshaan Chaudhuri ’27, Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy

Chaudhuri currently serves as the undergraduate representative to the University Assembly. 


Christian Flournoy ’27, College of Human Ecology

Flournoy previously served as a freshman representative during the 2023-2024 term, the vice president of diversity and inclusion and a representative-at-large during the 2024-2025 term and currently serves as the executive vice president. 


Zora de Rham ’27, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

de Rham previously served as a freshman representative and vice president of finance during the 2023-2024 term and has served as president for both the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 terms.


Executive Vice President - 1 Position


Hayden Watkins ’28, Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy

Watkins currently serves as the vice president for finance and a representative-at-large for the 2025-2026 term.


Kennedy Young ’28, Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy

Young currently serves as minority students representative and vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion.


Brooks School of Public Policy Representative - 1 Position


Yasmeen Masoud ’28

Masoud currently serves as the Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy representative. She is endorsed by the Cornell Young Democratic Socialists of America .

She is “focusing on equity, transparency, and student well-being across our community” while supporting “standardized grading policies,” “student support networks” and “responsible recruiting practices,” according to her Instagram campaign


Ashwina Bangari ’28

This is Bangari’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Representative - 2 Positions


Lydia Blum ’27

Blum served as a College of Agriculture and Life Sciences representative in the 2025-2026 term and 2024-2025 term.


Tin Aye ’28

This is Aye’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


College of Architecture, Art and Planning Representative - 1 Position


Levi Elenbaas ’30

This is Elenbaas’ first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


Amelia Lyons ’29

This is Lyons’ first time running for a position on the Assembly. Lyon is endorsed by the Cornell YDSA. 

“If elected, I’ll focus on three things: amplifying student voices in curriculum decisions, expanding interdisciplinary opportunities, and holding the university accountable,” Lyons wrote in a candidate statement posted on Instagram. 

She added that she wants to “push back against Cornell’s ties to the military-industrial complex and its cooperation with ICE, because the Cornell community — and the communities we study and design for — deserves better.”


College of Arts and Sciences Representative - 3 Positions


Jeffrey Chung ’29

This is Chung’ first time running for a position on the Assembly. Chung is endorsed by the Cornell YDSA.


Jocelyn Swavy ’28

Swavy currently serves as a College of Arts and Sciences representative. 

“I will create more opportunities for students to connect, collaborate, and build their networks – across majors and beyond the size of our school,” Swavy wrote in her campaign on Instagram.  


Dyson School of Business Representative - 1 Position


Arman Fard ’29

Fard currently serves as a freshman representative on the Assembly.


College of Engineering Representative - 2 Positions


Katherine Krishtopa ’28

Krishtopa currently serves as the engineering representative in the 2025-2026 term.


Julian Kimball ’28

This is Kimball’s first time running for a position on the Assembly.


College of Human Ecology Representative - 1 Position


Abisola Ayoola ’28

This is Ayoola’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


School of Industrial and Labor Relations Representative - 1 Position


Vidhit Singh ’29

This is Singh’s first time running for a position on the Assembly.  


Adam Sendelbach ’27

This is Sendelbach’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. He is endorsed by the Cornell YDSA and the Cornell University Progressives.

He aims to end the 18 credit limit in ILR, support “Quality Labor Movement Careers” and promote free laundry and printing, according to his Instagram campaign


First-Generation College Students Representative - 1 Position


Saphira Augustin ’29, College of Arts & Sciences

This is Augustin’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. She is endorsed by the Cornell YDSA.

According to her Instagram campaign, Augustin is a first generation and low income trailblazer from Haiti and a QuestBridge scholar

“After a semester of facing an administration that proves it will prioritize self interest over student welfare, the urgency to put pressure and put action to resolutions meant for our community seems more urgent than ever,” she wrote in her campaign.


Shabana Mahdis ’29, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences 

This is Mahdis’ first time running for a position on the Assembly.


International Students Representative - 1 Position


Tamar Tateladze ’29, College of Arts & Sciences

This is Tateladze’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


Darin Lee ’28, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

This is Lee’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


LGBTQIA+ Students Representative - 1 Position


Alexander Walters ’28, College of Arts and Sciences

Walters currently serves as the LGBTQIA+ representative on the Assembly. 


Minority Students Representative - 2 Positions


Jana Orief ’29, Duffield College of Engineering

This is Orief’s first time running for a position on the Assembly.


Daniel Addoquaye ’28, Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy

Addoquaye currently serves as the Vice President for Policy and the minority students representative and served as a freshman representative in the 2024-2025 term.


Argenis Alas ’29, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

This is Alas’ first time running for a position on the Assembly.


Students with Disabilities Representative - 1 Position

Strummer Dunn ’29, School of Industrial and Labor Relations

This is Dunn’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. Dunn is endorsed by the Cornell YDSA.


Student Workers Representative - 1 Position


Katherine Lamb ’28, S.C. Johnson College of Business

This is Lamb’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


Adriana Vink ’27, School of Industrial and Labor Relations

Vink previously served as the Director of Elections in the 2024-2025 term. She is endorsed by the Cornell YDSA.  

“Succumbing to pressure from the Trump administration, our university has failed to protect its most vulnerable students, putting student work livelihoods at risk with wage cuts and position eliminations,” Vink wrote in her campaign on Instagram. 

Vink hopes to raise the student wage to $18.50 per hour, “connect students to jobs on campus,” “ensure student dining workers have adequate equipment training and protective gear” and “uplift student worker voices,” according to her Instagram campaign.


Undergraduate Representative to the University Assembly - 2 Positions

Christian Tarala ’27, Nolan School of Hotel Administration

Tarala served as the School of Hotel Administration representative and a Student Assembly rRepresentative in the University Assembly in both the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 terms.


Akshara Keshri ’28, College of Arts and Sciences

This is Keshri’s first time running for a position on the Assembly.


Representative At-Large - 6 Positions


Four positions are directly elected. The other two are reserved for the first runner-up in the President and Executive Vice President elections. 


Myshay Causey ’29, Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy

Causey currently serves as a freshman representative.


Tyler Japal ’27, College of Arts and Sciences

This is Japal’s first time running for a position on the Assembly. 


Ellie Porter ’29, College of Arts and Sciences

Porter currently serves as a freshman representative. She is endorsed by the Cornell YDSA.


Jai Anand ’29, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

Anand currently serves as a freshman representative on the Assembly.


Women’s Issues Representative - 1 Position

Saanya Agarwal ’27, College of Human Ecology

Agarwal currently serves as the women's issues representative.
