As the summer kicks off, Ithaca is springing to life. The Sun captured the Ithaca Festival's lively Thursday parade.
BLOWING BUBBLES | A cat rescue marched in the parade with ears and bubble guns.
TOMATO TUNES | Vegetable mascots paraded for GreenStar Food Coop, drumming and passing out carrots to the crowd.
SCALY SIDECICK | Sciencenter volunteers greeted the crowd with a scaly pal.
PRIDE PARADE | A rainbow march waved pride flags and advertised Ithaca's upcoming pride festival.
CREATIVE COSTUMES | The Soil Factory walked through with creatively-constructed costumes.
SMOOTH SAXOPHONE | Fall Creek musicians played tunes for the crowd.
FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS | Dogs joined the procession, some with outfits of their own.
PATRIOTIC PROCESSION | Waving American flags, a patriotic procession reminded the crowd to vote.
