Announcing The Sun’s First Annual Senior Sunset Survey

Reading time: about 1 minutes

The survey can be found here. Responses will be collected until May 1st.

Time is ticking down until Commencement Weekend, nearly a month away, and the Class of 2026 is closing their undergraduate chapter at Cornell.

In these next weeks, Seniors are writing their final papers, taking their last prelims, and finalizing their plans for life after graduation. Hopefully, amid all that change, they will also take some time to look back on the past four years.

This year, The Sun is launching its first annual Senior Sunset Survey. The survey is broad in its variety, asking questions on demographics, preferences, academics, and post-graduate plans. While survey questions cannot encapsulate the spirit of the Class of 2026, it can certainly try to catch a glimpse.

The Senior Sunset Survey will be open for responses until May 1. Once the survey is closed, responses will be used to craft a report, summarizing its results. The report will include graphs and statistics that showcase trends among Seniors across many different avenues.

This survey is meant to serve as a time capsule for the graduating class. One that can be revisited for many years to reflect on your Cornell experience, how you stood out against your peers, and what were the patterns that emerged across your entire graduating class.

All responses are anonymous and names and emails are not collected as part of the submission. The survey, however, is only open to those with a Cornell email address.

Seniors, The Sun invites you to etch your experience into the history of the Class of 2026 and help us visualize what makes you all so unique. This story would not be complete without your participation.
