Series History:
In the 100th year of this rivalry, these spirited foes will once again face off in the Big Apple for the 10th iteration of Red Hot Hockey — competing for the Kelley-Harkness Cup.
Since Boston University left the ECAC and joined Hockey East, the rivalry has been saved for special events like this biennial matchup or, in recent years, the NCAA tournament. Overall, Cornell has the edge over the Terriers with a record of 27-23-3.
Cornell has also won the last four meetings at Madison Square Garden, most recently in a 2-1 comeback victory in 2023.
The two-storied programs' last meeting was this past March in Toledo, Ohio, in the NCAA regional final, where BU legged out a 3-2 overtime win to eliminate Cornell and move onto the Frozen Four.
The Red and Terriers have played very close games in recent memory, with each of the last four meetings being decided by just one goal.
