VIDEO/WEATHER | Cornell Meteorology breaks down the Homecoming weekend forecast. An early October warm front is moving across the East, bringing temperatures in the mid-70s to low-80s — warmer than the typical 60 degrees for this time of year.
Between 8 and 10 a.m., tailgaters can expect temperatures in the mid-60s to low-70s with clear skies and calm winds. Conditions will remain clear through the afternoon, with highs reaching the low-80s.
At kickoff, scheduled for 2 p.m., skies will be sunny with a light breeze and temperatures in the low-80s. Temperatures are expected to hold steady through halftime before dipping into the upper-70s by late afternoon.
Despite the lower October sun angle, UV exposure remains a concern. Attendees are advised to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated.
Women’s soccer is scheduled for noon, volleyball at 6 p.m. and sprint football at 7:30 p.m., rounding out what is expected to be a clear and comfortable Homecoming Saturday.
