Zora deRham ’27 will continue to serve as Student Assembly president and Christian Flournoy ’27 will fill the role of executive vice president, according to the Assembly election results for the 2025-2026 school year, announced at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
deRham won the majority vote in a presidential race against three other candidates. Ameera Aftab ’26 was the runner up for president against Eddy Pang ’28 and Flournoy — who ran for president and executive vice president and is currently on the student-elected trustee ballot.
Flournoy also had three competitors for executive vice president, including runner-up Ezra Galperin ’27, Saad Razzak ’26 and David Suarez ’27.
The presidential and EVP runner-ups, Aftab and Galperin, will serve as representatives at-large.
Other contested positions up for election included womens’ issue representative, student worker representative, Industrial and Labor Relations representative, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences representatives and College of Arts & Sciences representatives.
deRham, who currently serves as president, secured another term by showcasing her work on the Assembly throughout her first term and promising to “continue driving real change impacting your Cornell experience,” according to her campaign bio.
deRham pointed to her efforts to bring meal swipes to the Trillium eatery and work to protect Anabel’s Grocery in light of a University funding cut. She wrote that during her next term, she would “increase transparency” surrounding the allocation of over $6 million in funding, and work to include free laundry in the housing package.
Flournoy currently serves as the vice president for diversity and inclusion. He has also served as freshman representative and undergraduate representative at-large.
In his campaign, he expressed that the Student Assembly is in need of a “new framework”, focusing on “maximizing student voice” and effectively representing the community. He promised to work to increase transparency and engagement with the student body as EVP.
Saanya Agarwal ’27 won the seat for womens’ issues representative with a campaign focused on improving anti-sexual assault measures and expanding access to menstrual and reproductive products.
Aiden Vallecillo ’26, who is a reporter for The Sun, was elected to be the student worker representative. He promised to fight to increase wages, improve accessibility and increase protections for student workers.
Max Ehrlich ’26 won the election for ILR representative with a campaign highlighting goals to secure free Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit bus passes for all students and get ILR to acknowledge the vote to remove the 18 credit hour limit.
Lydia Blum ’27 and Grace Dorward ’26 were elected to be the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences representatives. Blum is currently one of the representatives and pointed to her support for resolutions to protect immigrant students, bring meal swipes to Trillium and urge Cornell to uphold its climate vows. Dorward seeks to increase connections with students and listen to ideas and feedback.
Luigi Berinde ’26, Dylan Carson ’28 and Jocelyn Swavy ’28 will fill the positions for College of Arts & Sciences representatives, bringing in diverse perspectives across studies in physics, government and American studies.
