Peer Pressure Leads to Senior Class Donations

Oct 27, 2010

According to an article from the Washington Post and The Chronicle of Higher Education, administrators at Cornell and Dartmouth are handing out the names of seniors who haven't contributed to their senior class campaign.  At Dartmouth, only one of the class of 1,123 didn't contribute to the fund, and faced ridicule for it in the campus paper and several blogs.

Dartmouth Goalie Leads Team To Upset of No. 6 Cornell in Men's Lacrosse

Meredith Bennet...  —  Apr 5, 2010

It was a precedent-setting outing for the Red in Foxboro, Mass., on Saturday. Unfortunately for the lacrosse team, it was Dartmouth that set the precedent, upsetting No. 6 Cornell, 8-6, behind a career-high, 23-save day for the Green’s goalie, Fergus Campbell. The loss snapped Cornell’s 12-game win streak, with Dartmouth becoming the first Ivy team not named Princeton or Brown to defeat the club since 2006.

M. Cagers Establish Single-Season Record for Wins Against Green

Matthew Manacher  —  Feb 22, 2010

To the casual observer, Cornell’s 88-70 victory at Dartmouth Saturday night marked a single-season record of 23 wins. To others, it might represent another shooting clinic held by senior forward Ryan Wittman, who led all scorers with 23 points and five buckets from beyond the arc. However, Cornell’s victory coupled with Princeton’s surprising loss to fifth-place Brown signifies an advantage for the Red entering the final two weeks of the campaign. The Red now enjoys a two-game lead in the win column over the Tigers in its quest to three-peat as Ivy League champion.

In Hanover, N.H., on Saturday night, Cornell senior captain Colin Greening scored with 11:47 remaining in the third period to give his team a 4-2 lead. After Greening’s goal, the Red appeared destined to cruise to victory over Dartmouth. However, the Green put together a furious comeback, potting three goals in a span of 4:43, as Cornell fell to Dartmouth, 5-4.

The Red (16-8-3, 13-5-2 ECAC) came into this game as the No.10 team in the country, with a share of the ECAC lead. With the loss, Cornell now falls back into a tie for second place in the league standings, two points behind first-place Yale.

Men's Basketball Dominates Dartmouth

Alex Kuczynski-Brown  —  Feb 1, 2010

On the eve of what many analysts dubbed the “sexiest” college basketball game of the weekend, Cornell managed to stay focused and soundly took care of business against Dartmouth on Friday night, routing the Green 71-37 at Newman Arena.

Men’s B-Ball Careful Not to Underestimate Dartmouth

Matthew Manacher  —  Jan 29, 2010

The last time these two teams met in Newman Arena, Cornell squandered a 19-point second half lead. Ultimately, the Red prevailed over Dartmouth, 79-76, in a double overtime Valentine’s Day victory last season. The Green was led by the 2008-09 Ivy League Player of the Year, Alex Barnett, whose graduation last spring has left a considerable void in Dartmouth’s lineup. The LAB Era, which fans from Hanover, N.H., refer to as Life After Barnett, has not been kind to the Green. Cornell will host Dartmouth this evening with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
