Ware Cady  —  Feb 26, 2010

The women’s hockey team will open the ECAC playoffs at home for the first time ever this weekend, when it hosts the eighth-seeded Colgate Raiders. The Red hold the No. 1 overall seed after its dramatic surge to overtake Clarkson atop the ECAC standings on the last weekend of the season. The Red (15-8-6, 14-2-6 ECAC) is currently 1-0-1 versus the Raiders (12-18-4, 8-10-4 ECAC) on the season thus far.

Men’s Hockey Raids the Raiders

Jill Mendelsohn  —  Feb 17, 2010

Despite early attempts of mocking the Red by throwing packs of Big Red gum on the ice, Colgate (12-13-5, 9-8-1 ECAC Hockey) fans did not really have a chance to get into the game last night against the Cornell. The Red successfully put last weekend’s loss against Yale in the back of its mind as it defeated the Raiders, 6-2.

Colgate Plows Through Cornell to 45-23 Victory

Keenan Weatherford  —  Oct 5, 2009

HAMILTON, N.Y. — Déjà vu must have set in for the football team early in the first quarter when Colgate sophomore tailback Nate Eachus ran for a 10-yard score. The setting changed, as did some of the players, but the outcome certainly didn’t; for the second year in a row, Colgate's offense physically overwhelmed Cornell’s defense for a 45-23 win.

Colgate 45, Football 23

The setting changed but the outcome certainly didn't; for the second year in a row, Colgate's offense physically overwhelmed Cornell's defense. The Raiders logged 561 total yards, 344 on the ground. The three-headed rushing attack of junior quarterback Greg Sullivan (84 rushing yards and one touchdown) and sophomore running backs Jordan McCord (98 rushing yards and two touchdowns) and Nate Eachus (129 rushing yards and three touchdowns) netted an average of 5.7 yards per carry and accounted for 20 of Colgate's 32 first downs — Cornell had just 15 total first downs.

Football To Take On Colgate’s Running Raiders

Keenan Weatherford  —  Oct 2, 2009

The last time the football team took on Colgate, it marked the official beginning of the post-honeymoon portion of 2008. With Cornell coming off a loss to Harvard, its first of the season, the Raiders treated Schoellkopf Field like their personal treadmill, logging 345 rushing yards despite losing their top running back in the second quarter. Colgate’s dominance on the ground opened up the passing lanes for quarterback Greg Sullivan, who totaled 255 passing yards and a touchdown despite completing just 8-of-17 attempts. Sullivan, now averaging 161 yards per game as a junior, also scrambled for a touchdown, but the real hero of the rushing game was Nate Eachus.
