The men and women cross country teams competed in Regionals on Saturday.

The women’s cross country team won its first Ivy League championship in over 13 years on Saturday in a race that the team is not likely to ever forget.

The men's cross country team looked to continue its quest for a Heps championship in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh. 

Both the men's and women's cross country teams feature several seniors looking to prove themselves in their final season on the Hill.

Coming off of a solid performance at Heps at the end of October, the cross country teams headed to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships at Harvard in Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday. As the teams reflect on their performances, there are some mixed reviews: the men were able to secure seventh place, led by junior Nate Edelman with a time of 31:18 for ninth place overall in the field. The women performed in a similar fashion, placing sixth overall and led by senior Stephanie Pancoast, who put up a final time of 22:40 for 12th place overall in the field.

With high expectations built up from a number of impressive races throughout the fall campaign, the men’s and women’s cross country teams headed to Columbia University’s Van Cortlandt Park this past Friday for the Heptagonal Championships. Overall, the results mostly met the runners’ expectations, with the men tying for third place with Dartmouth while the women finished in fourth place for the second consecutive year.
