Re: “Find Transfers a Home,” Opinion, Sep. 30
THANK YOU. The housing situation here is pretty terrible and the transfers here have had many more challenges to face than necessary considering we are already attempting to acclimate to an entirely new school. The first article did not represent the way the people living here truly feel and the consensus among the people living in Schuyler is that this article could also be worded more strongly.
The fact that our situation is being noticed is extremely encouraging. Important points were missed, however, including the fact that many of the rooms here were forced triples that the residents had to complain to housing to get out of (one of the rooms is still a triple). I have a friend who might transfer here next year and the housing situation is the only part of the University that forces me to drum down my attempts to lure him here. I believe that the housing situation must be remedied so that future transfers are not stuck in Australia like we were.
