"We are fortunate to have a dedicated and hard working board, which provides thoughtful policy guidance to the University. We have a world-class faculty and 19,000 of our nation's best students," Meinig stated in a Cornell news release.
President Hunter R. Rawlings III and the University administration are "quite delighted with the selection," said Henrik N. Dullea '61, vice president for University relations.
"[Meinig] is a capable and experienced board member with a great love for Cornell and an ability to get things done," Rawlings stated in a University press release.
