Snazzy suit you’ve got on there, what is the occasion?
Andrew: I just took my senior photo, more for my mother’s sake than for my own.
Is there any graduation tradition that you do really care about, or are for looking forward to participating in?
Andrew Jeong '10Andrew: Senior week, but I’m not really looking forward to graduating from college. Why would I want to leave?
Do you think any color PLUS a random number makes a good band name? or really, any adjective /noun … Eiffel 65? Blink 185? What would your band be called?
Andrew: That’s an interesting question! I have no freaking clue. Now I’m just thinking of band names off the top of my head — like Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers — and I think its honestly just random. Whatever sounds decent. My band would be called “The Wex.”
Palestinian women’s soccer team — recently fully formed in 2005 — held their first ever home game a few days ago. Considering the hesitancy Palestine women initially felt to join the team, considering the social stigma for women to not partake in athletics, this is generally seen as a great sign of progress for gender equality — although Hamas still does not support such activity. Overall, do you think the western world has the right to even pass judgment on the social conduct or norms for other countries, or is it rather more of “their culture, their business” kind-of-thing?
Andrew: We — the western world —might see it as progress [that we can encourage], but at the same time I think there is a universal standard of gender equality that we [all humans] should all meet, you know what I mean?
Would you like to see the U.S.’s trade embargo with Cuba lifted?
Andrew: Yes, because I want some of those cigars!
