Happy Halloween from Red Letter Daze!

Once upon a time, a long long time ago and all that jazz, I was obsessed with the Halloween industry: the decorations, the candy and of course the costumes. I have been an angel, the pink power ranger and almost every Disney princess, eventually establishing a go-to costume (which shall remain a mystery) that I stuck with for several years.

The costumes that were the most fun, however, were not the ones that came in a package, but the ones that I attempted to make myself.

Now, for once, I’ve decided on my costume(s) more than a day or two before Halloween. Have you made up your mind yet? If not, or if you just want a sneak preview of what everyone should be wearing this weekend, then this week’s Daze has what you need. We provide several ideas for guaranteed crowd-pleasers, and anyone with a closet, some basic tools and some willpower will have no problem making them.

Daze employed the help of Associate Design Editor Irene Leung ’11 and Photo Editor Matt Hintsa ’10 to style and photograph the models, respectively. In addition, fellow Sun editors volunteered their time to show off their best America’s Next Top Model poses as amateur, but enthusiastic models. The results were far more impressive than we ever could have expected. Turn to page 5 to check it out!

As usual, get the latest Red Letter Daze news on Facebook or Twitter. Send any questions, comments or suggestions to me at daze-editor@cornellsun.com.

Have a great Halloween weekend!
