There is less than a month of classes left, and not much longer than that until the 2008-09 academic year comes to a close. Take a minute and let that glorious fact sink in.
(Yes!)
However, the freedom of summer is accompanied by the stress of entering the real world.
In addition to the magazine’s column Advice From A to Z, which responds to readers’ concerns about the always frustrating summer internship search, Daze fashion columnist Chrysan Tung gives helpful tips on interview fashion — the way to set yourself apart from all of the other applicants.
And if you run straight into the brick wall of rejection, as I have often done over the past few months, remember … at least you have your health. Check out Cara Sprunk’s account of her experience at Blackbird Studio — learning yoga poses and Pilates techniques that apparently soothe both body and soul.
Also, this week’s main feature on eating disorders and the Ivy League provides some perspective on the issue — quality of life itself is always more important than the prestige of an internship.
In any case, if you’re looking for a way to procrastinate on that 20th round of internship applications and there’s no new episode of Grey’s, send any questions, comments, concerns and suggestions for the magazine to redletterdaze@cornellsun.com.
Wishing you luck with the job search (wish me luck too),
Allie Perez
