Keeping Cozy With the New Red Letter Daze

As I hopped out of my car, happily back in Ithaca for the semester, I couldn’t help but wish that I could hop back in. With temperatures well below freezing (and often below zero), there was nothing more appealing than a warm car (and nothing less appealing than a salty, snowy, freezing sidewalk). Luckily, we’ve been working hard down at the Sun office to bring you something to warm your spirits: the new Red Letter Daze — a new, revamped version of the publication you may remember as Eclipse, The Sun’s weekend magazine.

Look for all new features, blurbs, columns and tidbits. All of your favorites are back — from Cornell Diaries to horoscopes, with some great new additions — look for Shameless Commerce, comparisons of our favorite products, and Five Minutes, Five Questions, a quick interview with a random Cornell student. In our feature this week, Sun Editor in Chief Noah Grynberg investigates median grades — why they’re on transcripts and why some classes have A+ averages.

We hope that you enjoy the new Daze and that you’re keeping warm as you read. We’re publishing on Friday this week as editors trickle back to campus, but look for us on Thursdays from now on. And let us know what you think about the new look! Just send an e-mail to lkemmett@cornellsun.com.

Stay warm and go to class,
