The Search for the Perfect Apartment

Three weeks ago, I began the search for the elusive perfect apartment in Collegetown. I visited friends’ apartments, searched desperately for landlords’ phone numbers and attempted to organize myself among the hundreds of other harried students looking for a slice of real estate heaven in Collegetown.

My list of desires was seemingly endless: new appliances, wood floors, leather couches, nice views, convenient parking, elevator access ... it seemed as though my search would never end. But, alas, two weeks, three buildings, four spreadsheets and about 18 potential roommates later, I’ve signed over a check (and a small piece of my soul) to my wonderful new landlord for what is my own perfect apartment.

While the end result is positive, the search itself was obviously not. Which is why, this week, Eclipse put our collective apartment research together to give you the unoffical Eclipse guide to Collegetown apartments. We hope you find it useful, and that you find equally perfect apartments at the end of your search.

Either way, let us know what you think at eclipse@cornellsun.com, and if you would like to see your name in these pages, be in touch: we’re looking for writers.

Cheers,
