• Need a little comedy in the horror movie that is prelim season? Tonight at 9 p.m. is Comedy Night at Monirae’s, located at 688 County Route 10 in Pennville. This collection of Central New York’s highest quality comics, followed by the Custom Taylor Band, are sure to turn that frown upside down.

• The Goldstein Auditorium in Syracuse’s Schine Student Center will host a night of dancing this weekend during the DanceWorks Annual Show. The performance, with its New York City theme, will run the gamut of dance styles, as it includes hip hop, tap and Bhangra, among others. All dancing shoes should be laced up by 8 p.m on Saturday.

• In case you didn’t know, anything with the word “ultimate” in the title is 110 percent definitely worth going to. That being said, the Rochester Aud Theatre, located at 875 East Main Street, will be the site of the Ultimate Doo Wop show this weekend. On Saturday at 8 p.m., if you have nothing to do, Doo Wop.

• This Saturday, Ithaca College’s School of Music will put its students on display in a series of recitals in the Nabenhauer Recital Room. Nicole Van Hall, Lindsay Whitt and Carrie Hall will exercise their vocal cords at 1 p.m., Jillian Bushnel will break out her bassoon at 2 p.m. and Sara Weaver and Sarah Giordano will being back the singing at 3 p.m. Allison Rehn ends the series with an 8:15 cello recital.
