As an alum and avid Big Red hockey fan, I still check the Big Red scores during the winter and am proud that the team made it to the ECAC final. However, I am insulted and embarrassed that the Athletic Department needed to change the ticket policy in order to sell out Lynah Rink. (News, "S.A., Athletic Dept. Debate Hockey Tickets," March 30, 2001). To all students opposed to standing in line for tickets: Go watch men's basketball. A sign should be erected outside Lynah Rink- "True Big Red fans ONLY." I had season tickets all four years without my parents sending in a form. Many enduring memories include shouting "Sieve!!" at the opposing goalie, "Red" during the national anthem, "Section O sucks," and standing for all three periods of a Big Red victory. If you can't recite the "You're not a goalie..." cheer from memory, don't attend the games. The location where line numbers were to be given out was unknown my sophomore year because students would stand in line for days trying to get a seat. The drama heightened, and The Sun published stories daily speculating the line's location. When word leaked late one night, hundreds of students raced to the location. There weren't many unused tickets that year. That's Big Red hockey.
