• Have you ever been in that situation where you’re with a group of friends, and you’re having a tough time picking an activity for the night? One friend wants music, another friend wants storytelling and yet another is in the mood for some comedy. Wouldn’t it be easier if Billy Delaney provided all three in one show this weekend? Well, hit up the Blue Frog Café, on Main St. in Cortland tomorrow night at 8, and your diverse group of friends will be satisfied.
• What fits better in an arts calendar of events around upstate New York than a group from Ithaca performing in Oswego? The answer is nothing. Traonach, known for their traditional Irish dance music, has been around for decades, sometimes under their current name, and sometimes under aliases. Traonach will be doing their thing on Saturday at the Oswego Music Hall, located at 41 Lake St. Have your dancing shoes laced up by 8 p.m.
• This weekend, you have three chances to see new oil paintings by Linda Wesner. This nationally recognized impressionist painter is a native of central New York, for anyone who has an interest in local artists. The Gallery, located at 58 Albany St. in Cazenovia, will have Wesner’s new work on display between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. today, tomorrow and Sunday.
• Alternative band Third Eye Blind comes to SUNY Geneseo this weekend. Whether you only know their hits, or love their whole catalogue, it promises to be a good show. The performance takes place in the Kuhl Gymnasium in Alumni Fieldhouse. Acoustic guitarist Matt White opens at 8 p.m.
