I’m Not Drunk, Mom, It’s Hot Chocolate

November 16, 2007

Continuing from last week, I’m hoping to promote warmth. One good way to keep the heating bill down and stay warm is to have a drink or two. Why do you think drunk stereotypes tend to apply to people from cold countries? I’ve already been through spiked coffee last week and spiked cider a few weeks ago, but here are some more yummy drinks to help you stay warm this Thanksgiving break…

Chocolate Kiev

4 ounces hot milk

Hot cocoa mix

1 ounce vanilla vodka

3/4 ounce Amaretto

Combine in a mug and stir.

Simply Deliciousity

5 ounces hot milk

Chocolate syrup

2 ounces rum

Add syrup as desired to milk. Mix in rum.

Green Tea Tokyo

6 ounces hot green tea

2 ounces white rum

1 tablespoon honey

5 sprigs of mint

2 tablespoon sugar

Combine ingredients in a mug and stir.

Black Tea Divinity

6 ounces boiling water

Juice from one orange

1 tea bag (black)

Sugar

3 ounces Schnapps

3 ounces rum

Steep tea bag in water with juice. As water begins to cool, add alcohol. Add sugar to taste.

Mocha Kiss

4 ounces steamed milk

1 ounce espresso

1 ounce Grand Marnier

1 ounce Kahlua

1 ounce Irish cream

Pour alcohol and espresso into a mug. Add milk and stir.

This last one is cold, but I want to wish everyone a Happy Turkey Day!

Burnt Turkey

0.5 ounce Cinnamon Schnapps

0.5 ounce Bourbon

Mix together with crushed ice in a glass.
