The University is proposing mesh nets underneath six bridges as suicide deterrents, rejecting previous plans to construct horizontal bars or vertical cable mesh at the bridge sites.

The reconstruction of University Avenue will result in further delays for pedestrian traffic at the Fall Creek Suspension Bridge, which connects students who live on North Campus to Central Campus.

Following three forcible touching incidents — one of which involved a strong-armed robbery — and several burglaries at Collegetown restaurants, the Cornell University Police Department is requiring students who regularly cross the suspension bridge to present their Cornell identification  cards to police and provide any information they may have about these incidents.

I’ve always been a bit of a conspiracy theorist. Okay, so perhaps not in the “Who shot JFK?/Where were the air craft carriers for Pearl Harbor?” sort of way… more like in the “CNN is the mouth piece of corporate America” sort of way… So when I stumbled upon an interesting little anomaly in Cornell’s Comprehensive Master Plan, involving a bit of photo-shopping, my first thought was “hold the presses”. My second thought was “well, no one’s updated CMYK in a while…”
