Senior attackman Rob Pannell was named the Ivy League Player of the Week, freshman linemate Matt Donovan received Rookie of the Week and sophomore midfielder Doug Tesoriero was given a spot on the honor roll.

The men's lacrosse team triumphed over Harvard in epic fashion on Saturday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field, as sophomore attackman Rob Pannell netted the game-winning goal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to propel Cornell to a thrilling 13-12 victory.

While many people were partying in Miami (or the Jacksonville Landing) for Spring Break, the men’s lacrosse team instead remained in the northeastern part of the country to play three important games. Cornell faced two Ivy opponents, Yale and Penn, as well as New York State rival Stony Brook University.

Attackman Rob Pannell justified his new Ivy League Rookie of the Year trophy - awarded on Wednesday by the league office - with a five-point performance to boost the Red over visiting Hofstra, 11-8, in the first round of the NCAA tournament. With the win, Cornell moves on to a rematch with fourth-seeded Princeton, a 10-7 victor over UMass on Sunday. The game will be played at Hofstra on Saturday at 3 p.m. Cornell beat Princeton, 10-7, on April 18 at home in the team's biggest win of the season. The Tigers were ranked No. 1 in the country when they lost to the Red.
