Following a year of changes to the Greek system that have garnered national attention, the three branches — the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and Multicultural Greek Letter Council — elected their new leaders this week.
Rohan Siddhanti ’12 resigned from his post as vice president of programming for the Interfraternity Council Monday after he made crude gestures on stage at Greek Freak, a Tri-Council event held at the State Theatre April 23.
November marks a series of changes in Greek leadership on Cornell’s campus. The Panhellenic Council elected its officers for 2010 on Nov. 1 and the Intrafraternity Council elected its executive board in a two-part election on Nov. 11 and Nov. 18.
Yesterday, the Multicultural Greek Letter Council held elections for the council’s executive vice president and vice president of finance. Although the MGLC had its first election of officers last Wednesday, yesterday’s election was meant to fill the council’s empty slates. President-elect Nicholas Diaz ’10 stated that the council “wanted to have the entire executive board elected before Thanksgiving break.”
