Eternal life and longevity have been a prominent theme in folklore and fairy tales since the dawn of time. With a new found obsession for vampires in fiction and movies, the old tale of the philosopher’s stone, and the ageless anecdote of the infamous Fountain of Youth, living forever has quite obviously been a lustful dream for the human population since the beginning of time.

A Hundred Years of Loma Linda Life

I got sidetracked last night from my quest towards living to 100. I broke quite a few rules to say the least but it was totally worth it. And to prevent myself from wallowing in the buttery hole that I’ve dug during last night’s dinner, I must promote one of the best recipes I have ever made to all of you, Ina Garten’s Baked Shrimp Scampi. Every bite was worth all of the days the buttery and crispy concoction set me back in my quest.

The Sardinian Fountain of Youth

Yesterday after the long trek from the Ag quad to my apartment in Collegetown, I swapped my books for sneakers and headed to Noyes for a spinning class. After the long haul there, I stood in front of the desk taking deep breaths and praying for composure after being told that my ID doesn’t swipe and I am not allowed into the gym because Cornell is slow cashing their checks. Awesome. Good news everyone, the thousands of dollars we pay apparently still doesn’t guarantee we’ll be allowed into the gym.
