Re: “Roughin’ It: Faux Fo-20,” Arts, Feb. 4
Three sentences from this piece deserve special attention:
1. “[My mom] found out that my troop leader was a hardcore Mormon.”
2. “This Mormon would go on to try to convert my friend Pardis.”
3. “Sarah convinced me that there would be no tents to be set aflame and no Mormons allowed!”
Now go through each of those sentences again, but replace the underlined words with Black, Gay, Muslim, Transgendered Person or Little Person. Now focus on Sentence 3: No Jews Allowed! Smacks of bigotry, doesn’t it?
