Ithaca’s GreenStar Natural Foods Market will be the “anchor” of developer Josh Lower’s ’05 ambitious proposal to revive retail in the heart of Collegetown with several street-level storefronts.

The Common Council's new building plan for Collegetown promises new benefits to the area; however, it is important that they work out a few major details before this plan is approved.

Common Council members and Collegetown dwellers discussed four initiatives intended to implement the 2009 Collegetown Urban Plan & Conceptual Design Guidelines, plus an amendment that would have increased the chances of a full-service grocery store opening in Collegetown, at the City of Ithaca Planning and Economic Development Committee meeting Wednesday night.

Common Council is expected to vote on a set of proposed development guidelines on May 8.
