Ithaca’s GreenStar Natural Foods Market will be the “anchor” of developer Josh Lower’s ’05 ambitious proposal to revive retail in the heart of Collegetown with several street-level storefronts.

The Royal Palm Tavern is no longer financially sustainable, largely because of changes in student drinking habits. The family-owned bar's last day will be Feb. 29.

Collegetown smoking enthusiasts will soon have a local venue for buying paraphernalia when Smokers Choice opens at 121 Dryden Road in Collegetown early next week.  

After three years at its location on College Avenue, Kraftees lost its lease agreement and will reopen Wednesday at its property on Dryden Road. Kraftees will scale back some elements of its business as it adjusts to the smaller space, according to owner Patrick F. Kraft.

Three new stores opened in Collegetown this past month that have said they hope to have found a niche in the Collegetown market.
